  • NHS dental care is free for children under 18

NHS dental care is free of charge for children under the age of 18 and for those under 19 in full-time education. Dental care is also free on the NHS if you qualify under the NHS exempt criteria, for example, if you are pregnant.

(NOTE: We currently are unable to offer an NHS appointment, as we have a very long waiting list for new NHS patients at the practice. We only have a small NHS contract and high demand. You can add your details to the waiting list, but it will be a very, very long wait.)

    1. Is NHS dentistry free?

NHS dentistry is free for those who qualify for it under the exempt criteria set by the NHS. This includes children under the age of 18, those under the age of 19 in full-time education, pregnant people or mothers who have had a baby within the previous 12 months, and if you receive income support.

    2. How does NHS dentistry work?

NHS dentistry focuses on essential care that is needed to maintain your dental health. The NHS actually pays for part of your treatments, with you simply subsidising the balance. This ensures that essential dentistry is performed in a cost-effective manner, so you can receive the immediate care you need without the added pressure of financial commitments.

    3. Why isn’t cosmetic dentistry included?

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t paid for under the NHS because it does not immediately affect your health. NHS dentistry is designed to maintain the health of your mouth and teeth, so cosmetic treatments to improve your teeth’s appearance isn’t included.

    4. What if I want cosmetic dentistry?

We strive to keep our services open to all, which is why we are an NHS dentist, but if you’d like cosmetic dental treatments in Wolverhampton then we do have affordable options. We offer dental finance from a minimum spend of £500 so that you can improve the appearance of your teeth and spread the cost.

    5. Are you currently accepting new NHS patients?
