Is Invisalign worth it?

Invisalign is a ground-breaking clear brace, celebrated by patients and dental professionals alike, which uses a series of clear, removable trays to re-align your teeth over time. Your orthodontist will take 3D images of your mouth, which will be used to create the trays and to predict and track results throughout your Invisalign journey.

Clear braces might cost more than a traditional wire brace, but there are several key advantages that patients at our Wolverhampton dental practice find compelling.

Invisalign is discreet

Unlike a traditional wire brace, Invisalign’s clear trays can’t be seen unless very close up, and even then, it can be hard to spot them – a feature appreciated by our younger clients in particular.

Is Invisalign in Wolverhampton worth it?

Unlike metal braces, which often get particles of food caught in the wires, clear braces couldn’t be easier to keep clean. For starters, they are designed to be removed before eating, so debris doesn’t get caught in them in the first place. Just rinse the trays every time you remove them and brush them gently with a dedicated, soft toothbrush twice a day.

Invisalign is safer than a metal brace

Clear aligner trays are designed to be removed before engaging in any highly physical activities such as sports, so there is no risk of damage to your gums. Unlike a traditional brace, Invisalign doesn’t have any structural wires, so you never get any sharp or protruding edges in your mouth.

Invisalign clear braces mean less time at the dental clinic

Invisalign trays only need checking by your orthodontist after around six weeks of wear. Metal braces often need more frequent and extensive maintenance, especially if they get damaged and the wires break or shift out of place. Invisalign trays are so effective that for some, the period of treatment is curtailed to just 7 weeks.

The aligners won’t affect your speech

One of the common objections to traditional braces is that they slur the speech. With clear braces, the vast majority of patients say they noticed no impact on their speech whatsoever.

Invisalign improves facial symmetry

Studies have shown that symmetrical faces are generally considered to be more aesthetically pleasing than asymmetrical ones, so in the purely visual sense, clear braces can make a person more attractive. Correcting bite issues can, for example, flatten the area around the mouth and lips. Any alteration of your jaws and teeth will affect your face, enhancing overall symmetry.
