Your Guide To Teeth Straightening With Invisalign
Invisalign is one of our favourite dental treatments. Why? Because it can simply transform your smile – and even your quality of life. As well as helping to get teeth into a better position to improve factors like your bite and problems like jaw pain, Invisalign braces can also make teeth cleaning easier and give your smile that extra sparkle. Today, our experts in Wolverhampton talk you through how Invisalign works, so you’re prepared for treatment in advance.
As with many cosmetic treatments, a consultation is essential for your Invisalign treatment. By looking at your mouth, teeth and gums, we can advise you on the best solutions. And, if there are any problems or warning signs that might affect your suitability for treatment, we can spot these first and deal with them appropriately. In your Invisalign consultation, you can also familiarise yourself with the treatment process; get more comfortable with the team and practice set-up; and ask us any questions you have ahead of the procedure.
Invisalign treatment begins
Providing you’re a suitable candidate for Invisalign, we’ll invite you for the first stage of your treatment. Here, we’ll take impressions of your smile and plot how each tooth should move over time, to result in that fantastic, straight smile. We’ll then show you digital pictures of how your teeth will change and what your expected final result will be.
Now, it’s over to you: you’ll have sets of Invisalign aligners created to wear over your teeth throughout treatment. These need changing every few weeks to make those tiny, comfortable adjustments to your smile. We might also ask you to attend check-ups now and then to track your progress. You can also keep track of your end through the Invisalign app.
Some patients need small adjustments after the Invisalign treatment is completed. This is common and isn’t a cause for concern, but simply means your end results will be even better. We’ll discuss this with you at the appropriate time if needed.
Retainers and results
You’re now free to enjoy your brand-new smile! Congratulations on making it through your Invisalign treatment. To keep your teeth in their lovely new positions, don’t forget to wear your retainer – which your dentist in Wolverhampton can advise you on. Now all that’s left to do is unleash that newly-straightened smile on the world.
